Behind every fast-rising energy storage company there is a founding team, and few founding teams in the global BESS industry are searched for — and misunderstood — as often as HiTHIUM's. Two names dominate the queries: Jeff Wu, the founder, and Jason Wang, the co-founder and CEO. This article explains who they are, how their complementary backgrounds shaped HiTHIUM, and what each is focused on as the company scales globally.
Who Is Jeff Wu?
Jeff Wu (吴祖钰) is the Founder and Chairman of HiTHIUM. He founded the company in Xiamen in December 2019, in his early thirties, after more than a decade in the lithium battery industry.

His role today centres on technology direction and long-term strategy. Wu is a veteran lithium-battery specialist with more than ten years of hands-on experience in cell research and industrialisation. Before founding HiTHIUM he led key battery technology development and mass-production projects and participated in drafting industry and national standards for the battery sector. He has been named a Xiamen leading entrepreneurial talent under the city's high-level talent programmes, and his founding project was designated a key project at both Fujian provincial and Xiamen municipal level.
His technical philosophy has consistently pushed the industry toward bigger, longer-lived, storage-dedicated cells. Under his technical leadership, HiTHIUM delivered the world's first kiloampere-class long-duration storage cell, ∞Cell 1175Ah; the world's first utility-scale sodium-ion storage battery, ∞Cell N162Ah; and in December 2025 the world's first 8-hour dedicated LDES cell, ∞Cell 1300Ah, engineered for a service life beyond 20 years. At the company's third Eco-Day in December 2025, Wu outlined the four priorities that now define HiTHIUM's roadmap: ultra-large, high-safety, long-life cells; safer and more integrated systems; smarter manufacturing; and fully integrated energy storage solutions. He has framed the mission in simple terms — energy storage must match wind and solar not only in lifespan, but in cost.
Who Is Jason Wang?
Jason Wang (王鹏程) is the Co-founder and CEO of HiTHIUM, and serves as an executive director and general manager of the company.
His role is global operations, business development and delivery. Where Jeff Wu brings deep technical expertise, Wang brings capital-markets and investment experience: he spent years in the investment industry before co-founding HiTHIUM, including as a partner at an investment firm. That technology-plus-capital dual-founder structure has been central to how the company financed and executed its rapid scale-up.
Wang is also HiTHIUM's most visible executive on the global stage. He presented the company's long-duration storage strategy at the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution forum, announced the All-Weather Green Power 135 Lighthouse Plan at the December 2025 Eco-Day, and in October 2026 presided over the ceremony marking HiTHIUM's 200 GWh cumulative shipment milestone at the Chongqing manufacturing base, the world's first Lighthouse Factory in the energy storage battery sector.

At that ceremony, Wang framed the milestone as "not just about growth; it was about scaling end-to-end capabilities," and argued that the storage industry is no longer defined by competition between individual products, but by the strength of integrated capabilities across the entire value chain.
How the Two Roles Fit Together
The division of labour between the founders is deliberate. Jeff Wu, as Founder and Chairman, owns the battery technology and industrialisation agenda: cell chemistry, cell format, system architecture and the R&D priorities that follow from them. Jason Wang, as Co-founder and CEO, owns investment, operations and global business: capital structure, overseas expansion, project delivery and the execution of the strategy Wu's technology roadmap makes possible.
This pairing explains much of HiTHIUM's unusual trajectory. In six years the company grew from a 2019 startup to Global Top 2 in energy storage battery shipments in both 2025 and the first half of 2026, with revenue rising from RMB 3.6 billion in 2022 to RMB 12.9 billion in 2024, five manufacturing bases across China and the United States, customers in more than 40 countries, and more than 4,300 patent applications worldwide as of June 2025.
One Company, Two Searchable Names
For readers landing on this page while researching a supplier, partner or investment: Jeff Wu and Jason Wang are the two co-founders of HiTHIUM — Wu as founder and chairman leading technology, Wang as co-founder and CEO leading the business. Both remain actively involved in the company's day-to-day direction, and both have been the public faces of HiTHIUM's ambition to become the world's leading energy storage brand.
